Veg Biriyani

Biriyani is a mixed rice dish from the Indian Subcontinent. It is made with spices, rice and Vegetables.

Instructions

  • 1. Clean and pressure cook the basmati rice with 3 cups of water on a medium flame for 2 whistles until 3/4th of its done.
  • 2. Transfer the rice to a vessel and keep it aside.
  • 3. Heat a pressure pan with some oil,add spices(bay leaf,cinnamon,cardamom,cloves)and saute for few seconds.
  • 4. Then add sliced onions until it gets transparent.Now add chopped ginger-garlic and saute for a minute.
  • 5. Add green chilli,tomato,chopped vegetables,fresh mint leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
  • 6. Add red chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,garam masala powder and sprinkle some salt.
  • 7. Finally add curd and mix it well.
  • 8. Close the lid and cook on a high flame for one whistle.
  • 9. When the pressure goes off,add the boiled rice and nuts.
  • 10. Mix the contents well and simmer for two minutes.
  • 11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with onion raitha.
